Larisa & Shuster: Plame was working on Iran

jeralyn:
"Back in February, we wrote about Larisa Alexandrovna's article at Raw Story reporting that at the time Valerie Plame was outed in July, 2003 by Robert Novak, "she was part of an operation tracking distribution and acquisition of weapons of mass destruction technology to and from Iran." Larisa described the import:

The revelation that Iran was the focal point of Plame's work raises new questions as to possible other motivating factors in the White House's decision to reveal the identity of a CIA officer working on tracking a WMD supply network to Iran, particularly when the very topic of Iran's possible WMD capability is of such concern to the Administration.

Today on Hardball, MSNBC reporter David Schuster confirms that Plame was working on Iran. Crooks and Liars has the video."
RawStory has the transcript.

See the first part of my interview "All Roads Lead to Iran" for more.

Umm, Larisa Rocks. Congratulations, again , to her and Raw Story.

I think this is news too:
"Shuster: THE WILSONS SAY THEY'VE SPOKEN TO PROSECUTOR PATRICK FITZGERALD TWICE SINCE THE CASE BEGAN... AND THE LAST TIME WAS SEVERAL MONTHS AGO."
update: emptywheel in the comments:
"But I'm not sure the Wilson news is new. Remember, the night after Judy testified, Fitzgerald called Wilson. And thereafter brought Judy back to testify. Unless we're talking BOTH Wilson's, that phone call in October (several--well, several plus some months ago) would be their second conversation with him, wouldn't it?"

Dear Larisa,
Congratulations! Sorry I ever got yours and Sibel's stories confused- I think I understand now how it all fits together- sort of. All we need now are documents, documents, documents, so we can stop any moves to get the US involved in a war with Iran. And maybe get Cheney's resignation letter encased in bronze

Dear Mr. Anon who claims to know Joe Wilson and trashed Larisa's journalism the lat go-round: "what do you say now, Bub?"

EW - thnx for the reminder. i had forgotten about that phone call. oh to have been a fly in the ATT/NSA room that day.

Shuster appears to indicate that he is talking about both Wilson's - but that may have just been sloppy.

ah - i wondered who jayt was :-) thanks for that.

Shuster's article is the first time the public has heard that plame was working on iran - and apparently the first time that most in Left Blogistan had heard it too.

That's why you can hear so many pennies dropping all over the place - with people finally asking about Brewster Jennings and 'what it all means' - even amongst FDL'ers.

I think some people had read larisa's article but apparently nobody believed it - or got it - or something. The closest anyone else came to reporting it was clemons mentioned that it was 'maybe true' a couple of times (and juan cole mentioned larisa's article)

the only reason you thought it was common knowledge was becuase you hang out with us commoners.
