flag-burning amendment

* so the flag-burning amendment is nigh. i kinda hope it passes, and the dems can proudly overturn it when they are back in charge, and it will remind everyone of these dark, dark days and be a perma-stain on the repugs

* bradblog is still doing a bang-up job covering the busby election. Velvet Revolution is running a petition:
"Demand That The Busby-Bilbray Election Results In CA-50 Be 100% Hand Counted To Ensure That The Results Are Accurate In Light Of Improper Procedures On Diebold Machines Used In The Election"
* don:
"1) It is still telling at this point that despite rumblings early on in this affair that there is still no indication of Ash, Leopold, or TruthOut being served papers for libel"
* nydn:
" "Rita's (Cosby) nice," Olbermann wrote to a fan from his MSNBC E-mail account, "but dumber than a suitcase of rocks." Yesterday Cosby retorted: "Keith got it wrong. I'm not that nice.""
hysterical. (don thinks there's more to it)

* flashback: this from wapo, october 24 02:
""They are politicizing intelligence, no question about it," said Vincent M. Cannistraro, a former CIA counterterrorism chief. "And they are undertaking a campaign to get George Tenet [the director of central intelligence] fired because they can't get him to say what they want on Iraq."
a few weeks later he was "slam-dunking"
