Zarqawi's thumbdrive

* eriposte:
" I have presented evidence that indicates that one or more individuals within SISMI must have fabricated the (niger) "accord". The actions of SISMI appear to have been designed to make the CIA believe that the "evidence" sent to the CIA by SISMI prior to Feb 2002 (on the existence of an alleged Iraq-Niger uranium "accord") was "credible" and was backed up by the presence of the actual "accord" itself. This may have been SISMI's way of assuaging the CIA's long-standing concern about the credibility of the Niger uranium reports that they were fed by SISMI. Indeed, since SISMI had sent reports to the CIA in late 2001 about alleged letters mentioning a uranium sale "accord", it would have been natural for the CIA to ask SISMI about whether SISMI had access to the "accord" itself. Since Rocco Martino's dossier (that was shared with Elisabetta Burba) did not have an "accord" forgery, it would not be surprising if one or more individuals within SISMI simply fabricated the "accord" ("verbatim text") to satisfy the CIA's concerns or queries. "
got that?

* michael ledeen bravely writes a letter.

* i apologise. i'd previously understood that the story was that Lincoln Group Zarqawi's evil master plan which agrees with everything PreznitBlinky sez was found at Zarqawi's HQ, not at the unsafehouse that was blown to smithereens. I was wrong - they really are that stupid. (via damien)
Asked how he could be sure the information was authentic, Mr Rubaie said "there is nothing more authentic than finding a thumbdrive (electronic storage unit) in his pocket", referring to the body of Zarqawi. (link)
cute.

* Daou:
""Rove answered the attacks from the left-wing blogosphere: "The Internet for the Left of the Democratic Party has served as a way to mobilize hate and anger -- hate and anger, first and foremost, at this President and Conservatives, but then also at people within their own party whom they consider to be less than completely loyal to this very narrow, very out-of-the-mainstream, very far Left-wing ideology that they tend to represent.""

Hmmm, sounds like a Grimm Fairy Tale. My grandmother used to tell me, people who lie, think everyone else lies, people who steal, think everyone else steals, etc. It was her homespun expression of the unconscious process of projection. Kettles calling pots black and all.

Sounds like Rove has blood dripping all over his hands and not surprisingly has no shame about this fact. Nice frame Rove. Too bad it's 100% BS. Far left view? What would that be...having a serious problem accepting lectures from a scumbag like Rove?

Hate and anger is a natural response to the crap Bush Co. has pulled.

oldschool - yeah - it is all a bit confusing. try reading Ledeen's latest conversation with JJA. head does explode. EW's post is titled "Ledeen Loses Control of the Propaganda Apparatus"

noise/ OS - the 'wingers have one talking point left - calling everyone hateful, far-far-lefties. the good news is that the VRWC is giving "The Left" a really good name. 70-something% of people are now saying 'hey - if that's Left - sure - call me a Leftie'

I'm sure you remember Richard Cohen's recent garbage editorial on this subject. These people make me sick. I hope they (MSM apologists) don't understand exactly what they are underplaying. To think they understand the death and destruction and lives that have been ruined yet still find it acceptable to pass off as politics as usual...is difficult to contemplate.
