Well, now it's back.

Sanger wrote in the New York Times at the time: "In one tangle after another with members of the commission, she did not put to rest questions about why the administration had not taken stronger action after learning of evidence that not only was Al Qaeda intent on striking the United States, but also that airplanes could somehow figure in the attack."

And yet somehow the story just petered away over time.
