i think more than half the time people w/sites use them in the hopes of more hits or whatever. obviously, i don't use them but then again, i don't give a shit.
Chris has been a member or whatever of digg since the beginning but he doesn't count cause he doesn't have a site apart from his personal CV one showing off his techie skilz. up to you, Luke.
You forgot smelly. But, I'm washing now so I'm going to be quite a bit less smelly. Of course you know people using those do it with the hope it's a stepping stone to a rosier financial statement, whatever their express purpose may be. Nothing wrong with that; Alberto Gonzales would be proud. But, it just seems to me that if you're looking for the truth, you don't serve two masters.
Of course, this is the opinion of an extremist/radical with the "character flaw" of idealism who, at the same time, thinks he's better than other people (well, some of them). So don't listen to my advice: the way I see it, if I'm supposed to be rich, fortune will find me in my next life. That's ugly.

i totally agree and know as well, a lot are looking for book deals or whatever (LOL!). most of them have Google ads or whatever on their sites and possibly make a few bucks here or there...good luck to them as long as they're fighting the good fight.

you just described me, lol. in general, i think most people are morons (just check most of the best selling films or books at any particular time; just disgusting AFAIC). 'pop culture' sucks balls IMO.
