senior terrorist leaders love Democrats

* laura:
""PoliticsPA has learned from local sources that the RNC is pulling the plug on 72 hour operation in Delaware County. This is a clear indication that the national committees have written off Congressman Weldon.""
* wingnutdaily:
" Everybody has an opinion about next Tuesday's midterm congressional election in the U.S. – including senior terrorist leaders interviewed by WND who say they hope Americans sweep the Democrats into power because of the party's position on withdrawing from Iraq, a move, as they see it, that ensures victory for the worldwide Islamic resistance."
ummm. WND shoold be prosecuted for publishing terrorist propaganda! In a time of war!

* amy:
"A British humanitarian group is claiming as many as ninety-eight percent of cluster bomb victims over the last three decades have been civilian. In a new report, Handicap International says nearly one-third of those have been children. Hundreds of thousands cluster bomblets are on the ground in Lebanon following this summer’s Israeli invasion."
* krugman (thnx Jen):
"And we’re not planning to do anything about it: the U.S.-led reconstruction effort in Iraq is basically over. I don’t know whether the administration is afraid to ask U.S. voters for more money, or simply considers the situation hopeless. Either way, the United States has accepted defeat on reconstruction.

Yet Americans are still fighting and dying in Iraq. For what?"

* rimone writes her dad a touching posthumous love/birthday letter. and her poem for career boy was published in a magazine. which is just about the coolest thing ever. i bow down. again.

* arthur:
"Let's rephrase the old cliche, to make it fully accurate. When faced with dictatorship, torture, and endless war and death, the Democrats will rearrange the atoms, to be found in the molecules, which make up the imperceptible pieces of dust, that rest upon the cushions, that sit on the deck chairs of the Titanic.

* profmarcus:
"i do believe rove to be a brilliant strategist, larisa, which is made all the more formidable BECAUSE he has embraced both evil and darkness as part of his repertoire... this dangerous and deadly combination is precisely why he remains a force to be reckoned with and why, as long as he occupies his seat of power, we must never let down our vigilance for one second...

if you scan the cast of characters in bushco, you find different types of evil... first, there is george, a case study in sock puppet evil... then there is dick cheney, dogged, persistent, plodding, darth vader-type evil... alberto gonzales exemplifies vapid, endless loop, record-stuck-in-a-groove, evil-with-an-avuncular-countenance evil... rumsfeld is your dotty, crochety, uncle who shoots b-b's at little kids for stepping on the grass evil... but karl is the prince, karl is the big enchilada, karl provides the horsepower... in short, karl is the quintessential energy source for the evil that powers the whole machine of evil represented by bush and his criminal gang... he's smart and he's completely unprincipled, the worst of a bad bunch, and, arguably, the most dangerous man in the world... he has single-handedly taken an already debased political dialogue in the u.s. and made it pure poison, corrosive to the touch, polarizing, calling forth the most vicious of primal instincts in many, and alienating anyone and everyone who has a shred of moral decency...

i won't rest until he is locked up, never to come within 100 miles of another public official or elected office holder..."
* gore vidal interview (thnx Damien):
"Vidal discusses the importance of due process of law, "the very basis of this country." He contends that the eradication of the Bill of Rights under the 2006 Military Commissions Act has led to a 'Bill of Wrongs.'

"These are powers that have never been even thought of before by earlier Attorney Generals and Presidents and it's very scary that it all passes by so simply. Everybody yawns, 'Well, we've got to move on, you know.' Well, we've moved on into hell-- that is what has happened to the Republic of the United States," said Vidal."
[]
"I think one advantage of having a Democratic House of Representatives after the coming election will be that we can have a new commission investigate 9/11 and the events leading up to our attacks on two innocent countries, Iraq and Afghanistan. It's about time that we begun to clean up our own house before we find that an international tribunal has summoned our leaders to The Hague in chains to put them on trial."

With respect to Laura, I should point out that the vermin at the RNCC put a new ad in the TV market for PA-07 with the tag line of "We just can't afford liberal Joe Sestak" (have to throw "liberal" in there to upset the women, children and pets, right?). So maybe they've scaled back in PA-07 to try and slime Murphy and Murphy some more in -06 and -08, but they haven't completely given up on Weldon...yet.

awwww, thank you, Luke. the most amazing thing IMO is that i got a shitload more mails on that post than on anything i ever wrote before i lost my political edge or whatever, lol.

i almost pulled it down cause it depressed me so fucking much...a few told me it made them cry (including my sister). i was sobbing my ass off while writing it (nothing new, i used to cry when writing about politics, even when i was trying to be funny and IMO succeeding, judging my the reactions in mails. but nobody knew that i was beside myself weeping and angry, while imitating smirkey).
