Brit Hume is perfectly ethical man

* juancole:
"The Iraqi government is putting the final touches on petroleum legislation, which will allow contracts to be signed by the oil majors. Up until now, legal uncertainties kept them away. My guess is that James Baker crafted the Iraq Study Group report so as to have the least possible negative impact on such petroleum negotiations."
* I've mentioned Palo Verde (from Liberty Post) here before. She is a big fan of George Bush & Sibel. Someone over at LibertyPost wrote:
"What bothers me about (sibel's) case is not only is it [not] high profile but not even Fox News has ever touched upon it. At least "60 Minutes" did in 2004. I taped that segment.'
Palo responded:
"I am very surprised Brit Hume won't touch it
Even Matt Drudge won't touch it
it is a mystery
because Brit Hume is perfectly ethical man
and Drudge is owned by no one"
Someone called "a mind of her own" wrote:
"Palo,

One thing I have never figured out, though, is how you can be so familiar with Edmond's story, and still be a supporter of the Bush Administration. Has this changed?"
Palo wrote:
'as for George Bush as a person
yes I think he is fine decent lovely man
who cares about our country and works hard
however he is mistaken about many things
(and those with corrupt interests of their own, saw to it that he made those mistakes)
President Bush mistakenly believed what the totally corrupt George Tenet, Director of his CIA, told him

I am sorry for all the mistakes Bush has made
and if there had been a better choice in '04, I would have voted for a better choice
but even tho John Kerrey is a nice man
his Party is now totally corrupt
I saw all the people he planned to appoint to his Cabinet
they are all major clintonistas
I did not want that to happen
so I voted for Bush again to keep them out

I had had high hopes for Bush when I voted for him the first time
But the way it has worked out, is the single advantage to having him in there, is it has keep the Executive Branch from falling to the clintonistas
Of course I adore Al Gore, he is fine lovely person
but he lost his wits when his Dad went to to Heaven during Impeachment
and has not gotten them back yet
he would have just been puppet if he had been allowed to have White House"

I read that PV's comments and I think:

- someone with a subtle but very deep sense of sarcasm
- someone who is woefully naive
- a plant (in the context of espionage)
- a plant (in the context of mental rutabega-ness... is that a word? Fuck it, it is now!)

I grant that it's not unusual for someone on the right to latch onto the 'conspiracy mindset'; Scholars for 9/11 Truth employs a hard right conservative (that's con, not neocon) columnist, one Arthur Weinreb, as a mouthpiece (see here for some of his work). Judicial Watch, responsible for some 9/11 documentation releases, is proudly conservative. There are many conservatives of sense and integrity who are as alarmed by recent history as we; they've just been easier for their whack-job brethren on the right to drown out.

Still, a devoted Bushite (if indeed she is) latching onto Sibel's story like this is, well, odd. In any event, it's a testament to the power of her story once you've taken the time to properly look into it.

LOL!! "a plant (in the context of mental rutabega-ness... is that a word? Fuck it, it is now!)"

That's the rule, Don. If you can spell it, it's a word. :-)

But, the real reason I'm here is to point out the one kind of plant you forgot to mention: The green, leafy kind, as in the "I am not a potted plant!!!" as plaintively screamed out by Ollie North's attorney when trying to represent THAT ne'er-do-well in the Iranamok Congressional Hearings where his lawyerly objections were being ignored by the presiding officer.

I'm not so sure that this Palo person doesn't qualify under that definition. Have you ever seen anyone go into such sweetly illogical contortions to provide excuses for the so-called *leader of the free world* ?? The person who is supposed to be 'responsible' and 'intelligent' and . . . oh, nevermind.

I read her words and swiftly concluded that THERE is a mind I definitely do not want to examine more closely. I would be afraid of being inextricably caught in the sticky tentacles therein.

Oy!

Luke, I must confess; you are MUCH kinder than me. " . . . George Bush as a person . . . is a fine decent lovely man who cares about our country and works hard however he is mistaken about many things" ??? ! . . . and he's totally manipulatable (which is not part of his job description) but it all adds up to a good thing?! I wonder what Palo has been smoking . . . and where can I get some! ROFL!!

lol, LeeB, exactly what i was thinking after my head exploded reading palo's shite.

Don't know whether Palo's been smoking some good stuff with folks like Condoleeza at Stanford, but Palo really seems to be Alto!

oldschool - lol.

i'm all for making up words, but i have *no* idea what "rutabega-ness" means...

HA! Rutabaga is a root veggie closely related to turnips. In fact, they are almost identical except the rutabaga has Vitamin A in it which gives it a yellow color. Turnips have white flesh. Neither one are particularly *fashionable* these days. I don't think I've seen one since I was about three years old and in my grandmother's kitchen. Don't tell the folks in Forest Grove, Oregon, however, they call themselves the Rutabaga Capital of the World. Good Lord!

I'm sure Don had a very specific trait in mind when he created this description for a mental state. and it can't be flattering! Big, dull . . . a lump big enough to fill the cranium of an average-sized adult?

thnx leeb.

in my head i imagined that it was either a dull vegetable or an exotic dance.
