"The advocacy group Judicial Watch released a list today of “Washington's 'Ten Most Corrupt Politicians' for 2006.” In a final swipe at Republican leadership in the last Congress, the list, as acquired by RAW STORY, singles out more Republicans than Democrats.
Judicial Watch describes itself as "a conservative, non-partisan educational foundation, [that] promotes transparency, accountability and integrity in government, politics and the law."
This year, according to the group, six of the most corrupt Washington politicians were Republicans whose names are often identified with the scandals widely believed to have contributed to the Democratic victory in the November midterms: Lobbyist Jack Abramoff, Rep. Randy "Duke" Cunningham (R-CA), Rep. Tom Delay (R-TX), Rep. Mark Foley (R-FL), Rep. Denny Hastert (R-IL), and Rep. Bob Ney (R-OH)."
Hastert is the only one who still has a job, so far.

One congress critter I'd like to see added to this list is that increasingly notorious Virginia congressman Virgil Goode. I think he's just asking to be made an example of. He has the nerve of attacking the ethics of those in congress that won't only swear on the bible, amongst other racist and xenophobic statements, but he is the only one of the top three receipients of MZM's blood money that's still working in congress now (Randy Duke Cunningham and Katherine Harris were the other two). And there's a lot of suspicious trails of paybacks for that blood money that have been investigated in his district too.
He's probably just lucky that the senate race in Virginia got most of the attention in his state last election in terms of the unsavory activities of the Republican in that race.
