"It's becoming increasingly clear that Hillary isn't running as a new Democrat, she's running as as a non-Democrat. Her strategy seems to be attacking everything and everyone associated with the Democratic party, and especially its base - and using Republican talking points, at that - in order to somehow position Hillary as a modern-day Diogenes, independent, above-the-fray, alone in the wilderness, forever on the look-out for honest politics.

In other words, Hillary is Joe Lieberman.

* clemons:
"Perle: one of the most effectively shrewd, compelling, and frequently disturbing policy personalities in Washington."

* kleiman:
"A friend makes a point I hadn't considered: of the three top-tier Republican Presidential candidates, the only one who's monagamous is the Mormon.

There must be a lesson there somewhere, but I'm damned if I know what it is."

* phil giraldi (in the interview with scott horton): 'there are things that iran could do if we attacked them. they could assassinate Musharaff in Pakistan and turn pakistan into a nuke-capable islamic state'

* salon:
"In fact, the real danger with remaining fixated on Bush is that you may turn into a thoroughly political person. And this is a pretty lifeless place to be... Paradoxically, the more you hate Bush, the greater the danger you will become as hollow as he is."
