articles of impeachment against Dick Cheney

* RawStory exclusive:
"Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-OH), the former mayor of Cleveland who is seeking the 2008 Democratic nomination for president for the second time, has selected a date to introduce articles of impeachment against Vice President Dick Cheney.

A source who asked to remain anonymous told RAW STORY that the articles of impeachment would be introduced next week.

"The Congressman plans to introduce the articles on Wednesday, April 25th," the source told RAW STORY"

* meanwhile, in this 2 min video interview from a few days ago, Kucinich says that he will conduct a new inquiry 'sometime in September' into 'specific area of 911... egregious examples of distortions of truth, or a lack of information... and from there, we'll move ahead'
paging sibel...

* and speaking of impeachment, this from Parry's place:
"In order to learn from history rather than repeat past mistakes, and to give our current national situation context, it helps to remember the lessons of Vietnam, Nixon's imperial Presidency, the Iran-contra affair and a period when monarchs were above the law - the era that gave birth to our Constitution.

When evaluated in the context of all these events, Bush's runaway Presidency, his administration's crimes against the people of this country and the repercussions of those actions appear so egregious that impeachment isn't merely Congress's option, but its constitutional duty."

* Jonathon:
"I've always enjoyed the idea that while God did have the power to make Bush president in 2000, He didn't have the power to get Bush the most votes.

* Tim at BJ:
"Again the unique Bush gift goes beyond making a plainly stupid argument to some ethereal plane of counterproductive mendaciousness. A sworn enemy of the United States could not manufacture a Manchurian president-bot that would serve their interests better than our current leadership."
'ironic' huh? one day, hopefully in the not-too-distant future, someone will line up all the 'ironies' of this egadministration and say 'hang on... something don't seem quite right... OHHHH SHIT!'

This is great news about Kucinich! I have written him numerous times asking him to open hearings into Sibel's case . I'm hoping he goes through with it !

thanks for your efforts, anon.

kucinich might very well be the one to crack open sibel's case.

i'd love to know which 'specific areas' DK is interested in starting with.

I saw Kucinich in a brief interview on CNN this morning, and he explained he plans to conduct an exhaustive investigation into refining capacity, oil company profits and price fixing. Bless his heart, I hope someone doesn't shoot him.

He needs to start by getting access to all the documents related to Cheney's "Energy Task Force" from 2001. With the Energy Task Force the Cheney regime laid out the blueprints for their "war on terror" [read: war for resource domination]. That is where his investigation should start, then investigate 9/11, their modern-day Reichstag Fire without which their awful dreams would never have been able to become reality. It's fairly easy to prove it was an inside job anyway; there has even been enough evidence in the mainstream media of all places to cook their goose. Consider that Bush had war plans for the invasion of Afghanistan on his desk two days BEFORE 9/11:

So the real question is, will Kucinich have guts enough to expose it? I sure hope so. Otherwise he's just another part of the problem.
