update: uranus in the comments:
Meanwhile, Americablog landed over 1,200 comments on Gonzales Thursday. I figured this story would be light for comments here. May I do the honors?
This man spent over two weeks rehearsing five hours a day for the hearing. Then, he denied remembering things 70 times. Apparently his staff just threw up their hands and said, "it can't be done! You'd better just dummy up and keep your mouth shut. And, oh yeah, if you can throw in the phrases, 'who am I?' and 'where am I?' a couple times, that will help."
What a pathetic defense strategy! I didn't know he was that stupid, and figured he could tap dance a little better. What do you imagine Monica Goodling's lawyers told her? "You'll be indicted in at least 20 high crimes if you testify. You'd better quit your job and vanish!!"
How I long for the good old days when an independent media would have driven Bush and Friends out of town on a rail.

thnks Mr U - post updated.
Bless us all, Luke. The Bush administration is so much like Nixon, it makes me regurgitate freely and continuously. This is one of the "lawyers" who insisted with wholehearted confidence that torture is legal, and upon whom the Bush administration relied for its prison policies, and the guy did it because he just doesn't know any better. Advice like that couldn't make minimum wage in the private sector, yet he's the attorney general of the U.S. They're all like mafiosos, they do as they please and offer no apologies, and it all just flies on by. I have to laugh to keep from crying. They work together and know they'll be exonerated, because they work together and hold to the myth they're holy.
It's almost impossible to believe, but what makes it harder is Nixon did shit this way. I signed up with Selective Service during Vietnam under Nixon. Reagan and Bush Sr. did things this way, and I saw my world go up in the smoke of Reaganomics. Now, this bullshit. Do you know how tired I am of it? I'm as tired as you'll be when the Bush administration term has run, for those who are fortunate and blissfully young enough to not have lived the total kingdom experience of Nixon, Reagan and GHW Bush.
