Uh, actually, it's NOT.

Note: If the insurgents can strike in the Green Zone at will, it proves the increase in U.S. forces has not done one thing to bring America closer to pacifying Iraq.
The writing is on the wall. The troops may be coming home sooner than we think.

Thanks, Miguel. Failing to learn from history, Cheney pushed ahead with this expensive error because he's made a fortune making mistakes. Life should be so kind to all of us. There are analogies to many past wars, as we all, including Cheney, know. I kept trying to assemble the analogy to Vietnam, but it was too ugly. It's sufficient to remind everyone that when a few of the "right" people told Nixon to end it, he did, suddenly and unexpectedly. It was a very, very happy thing. Today a lot of people are standing in the way of this happy thing with Iraq and Afghanistan, saying, "hold your horses." I think of them as stupid bastards, and I hate them.
AP said Saturday U.S. casualties are up 21 percent in Baghdad over the past two months:
Since the crackdown began Feb. 14, U.S. military officials have spoken of encouraging signs that security is improving in the capital but have cautioned against drawing any firm conclusions until at least the summer.
They tried it in Vietnam and suddenly we were losing a thousand guys a week. It might take more than a few months to see the "result" of this experiment. Let me get out my little tin idol and flag, and pledge allegiance to King Dubya. I read a story last week about Lee Iacoca wondering where is the outrage. There's plenty, but people don't take the time to write it. I'm not like that. The Cheney coven continues to wait for the We Won Wall Plaque that never comes.
