Worst. Month, Ever.

* Reuters:
"April bloodiest month for UK troops in Iraq since 2003

British troops in Iraq passed a bloody milestone this week with the killing of a 20-year-old gunner in the southern city of Basra.

Eleven British soldiers have now been killed in Iraq this month, the highest number of casualties suffered by British forces in a single month since March 2003 when 27 were killed in the opening days of the U.S.-led invasion."

* Euronews:
"Nine US soldiers die in suicide bombing in Iraq

As militants keep up their all out drive for carnage in Iraq, the US is debating its future military presence. Among the violence on Monday, nine US soldiers were killed and 20 wounded in a suicide car bomb attack, one of the worst against American ground forces there."

* The Age:
IN ONE of the worst days of violence against Australian troops serving in southern Iraq, three soldiers were wounded in a roadside bomb attack outside Nasariyah on Monday

Notice a pattern?
