* "A powerful group of Sunni Muslim clerics threatened on Sunday to call a boycott of Iraqi elections planned for January if U.S. forces launch a widely expected full-scale assault on rebel-held Fallujah." why dont we fucking leave? im so ashamed to have my name on this stupid campaign. not that my shame is an issue. and id hate it the same if oz wasnt involved. but we're all americans now. maybe itd be different somehow if china or zimbabwe or haiti was doing it instead of something loosely called 'us'. if we leave, most of the attacks stop. its simple. and the idea of somehow keeping the country together till we give them elections is plainly absurd. unless the invasion was for some nefarious purpose, then we'll have to leave anyway. it might as well be today. imagine the lives saved. even if they truly believe that they are of value till the election, once u put that through the (recently downward-revised) discounter of probability/accuracy and the requisite cost component, theres no way we should be there. on any math. i understand a lil about risk/reward. and adjusting the equations on the fly. if u dont know why you are consistently wrong, you shut down and reduce your exposure. its so obvious. sportspeople do it every day if it starts raining or is windy or whatever. somehow it doesnt occur to the yadayadmin.
