power to the papal

POPE
* Martinez is going to the popes funeral - despite writing and distributing the schiavo memo LINK

* i really wish the National Endowment for Democracy would run around the Vatican handing out (pick a color) flags with democracy slogans. it'd be one of their easiest gigs ever, they dont need to generate crowds or media coverage - its all already there! they dont need to overthrow an leader, cos there isnt one, yet. the pope is dead, long live the - holyshit! no-one's in charge! they wouldnt even have to go to the expense of bussing people in - people paid there own way. cmon NED, all they need is flags of a uniform color. we've even got 25 massive tv screens strategically placed around town. we could just replicate the iraqi democracy - guaranteed one-third female representation would be a good start. we could laugh at the silly clothes of the cardinals like we mock the moolahs. we could trumpet the culture-of-life by actually allowing the representatives to have sex. and we could finally put an end to that annual flagellation ritual and the weekly ritual cannibalism. and we can finally do something about the children! surely it isnt right for old men to dress up young boys in dresses. we'd lynch mjackson if we could prove he did that once.

* what would vatican democracy look like?: "With the Pope's death, American Catholics yearn for openness. According to a poll by Gallup, 78% want the next pope to allow Catholics to use birth control; 63% say he should let priests marry; 59% believe he should have a less strict policy on stem cell research; 55% say he should allow women to be priests." * is it called 'live-blogging' if i blog the highlights of the pope's funeral in real-time?

* i wonder what the deadpope thinks of the fact that blinky illegally killed his gf's fetus, nee baby, when she was 17. i wonder what the texas legislature thinks of it.

* apparently there are a lot of pretty women available for close-ups at the papal funeral

* i think the papal funeral is prolly even on espn & the playboy channel.
