Mr Bush challenged militants to "bring them on!" even as two more US troops died.

(It is an extraordinary reflection on the national state of affairs when the use by a member of the PM's own party of the word tolerant can be seen as implying criticism of the Prime Minister.)

This week's French newspapers have reported the proposed Australian-led intervention in the Solomons as a major strategic shift for Canberra. The country's leading newspaper, Le Monde, said the Solomons venture could become the first of a series of inverventions by Australia in the region.

Bush told Abbas, "God told me to strike at Al Qaeda and I struck them, and then He instructed me to strike at Saddam, which I did, and now I am determined to solve the problem in the Middle East.''

Bush, a proud Texan with a penchant for plain talk, told reporters on Wednesday: "There are some who feel like that conditions are such that they can attack us there. My answer is: Bring them on. We have the force necessary to deal with the situation."
Sen. John Kerry, said condemned the comment, saying, "The deteriorating situation in Iraq (news - web sites) requires less swagger and more thoughtfulness and statesmanship."

"Very small physical quantities, a couple of gallons, can literally obliterate tens of thousands of people," said Warner. "Really we want to share with you some of this material but the intelligence community can't do it because they are gaining it through human intelligence."
"We were told that there was some evidence, which we should not reach any conclusion on, that there might have been a program that could lead to a relatively rapid constitution of a weapon," Levin said after the news conference.

"A "hoax-like" device that looked like a bomb and an automatic weapon were found inside a car at a rental agency near La Guardia Airport"
mr ed - wtf is a 'hoax-like' device - mr orwell will be gloating in his gravy.
"Officers from the 115th Precinct called in the bomb squad who "determined it was a hoax-like device," Tuller said."
mr ed - how does one 'determine' such a thing?

Seven in 10 people in a poll say the Bush administration implied that Iraq and its leader Saddam Hussein were involved in the Sept. 11 attacks against the United States.

Coulter concludes: "If Americans were lied to, they were lied to by liberals who warned that we would be annihilated if we attacked Iraq."
In Coulter's world, only "liberals" oppose murder and forced conversion.

Coulter conflates dissent with treason, opposition with treason, being wrong with treason, being right with treason and just about anything she doesn't like with treason.
