The allegation was made by US army Brigadier-General Janis Karpinski, who told the BBC at the weekend that during her time at Abu Ghraib jail she encountered someone of Middle Eastern appearance among the intelligence personnel and asked him who he was. "He said, 'Well I do some of the interrogation here and of course I speak Arabic but I'm not an Arab. I'm from Israel'," Brigadier-General Karpinski said.
