for the 1st time? gee! a) u are a very patient listener b) im not very persuasive :-)

of course, they did the same to bush-hugger mccain - 'being a pow made him psychologically unsuitable 2 b pres' (apparently bushs' 40 lost years were good training) - and then of course theres the disgusting mccain black-baby thing. and they also trashed the mono-limbed cleland. or for a much worse demonstration of their capabilities/shamelessness - the kuwaiti baby incubator perhaps takes the cake.

i actually wrote a broader rant about this yesterday but my computer trashed it - grrrr. ill get back to it later/soon (crises dependent). of course, my personal view is that the problems are much larger than the swiftboat thing... even within the narrow framework of the us election, my guess is that things will get much worse in the dirty-tricks sphere and the swiftboat thing will be a quaint memory in a few months. rove knows how to keep his powder dry - and they pulled this one off with just a few bux (527 'donations' of just $150k, presumably plus the airtime bill which i havent seen, plus the bribes, plus a website plus gazillions in free advertising from everyone from fauxnews to the newspapers of scratched record (ooh - i think i just invented a phrase. nice.))

ftr - my guess is that the airtime bill is near zero (not that money is a constraint for these peeps) - it seems that all they need to do is put together an ad and run it during the graveyard shift in a couple of local mkts and they get a massive echo. in my own local mkt we have ads on the teeve for individual cafes 'near the supermkt, on the right' - and thats during the olympics!
