* "United by a deep concern about the mounting failures of the Bush administration's foreign policy, more than 180 former United States Ambassadors who have served under Republican and Democratic presidents endorsed John Kerry for president on Monday." http://releases.usnewswire.com/GetRelease.asp?id=37385

* can we get another ricin story please? ive missed them.

* the latest tube story is really funny. why is everyone getting so worked up about it? about the only thing i can think of that the ladmin said that was ever even partly true was 'we'll cut taxes'. with any luck, the nyt is working on a 10000 word story investigating the uavs. or the fact that there isnt any wmd in iraq. or that the saddam statue thing was faked. or that the 45min claim was rubbish. or something. somehow the egadmin seems to have even distorted time - i feel like i havent had a new thought in 2 years - and in the news we get late-breaking stories like 'no saddam/alq link' and 'tubes may not have been nukes'. what a trip.

* even the beeb makes odd editorial decisions at times :-(

* some people are beginning to ask why blinky doesnt go to church.

* a reminder for the veep debate - cheney was in charge of 43's effort to find a veep.

* speaking of shoebombing heres one i didnt know "January turned up an email sent by "shoe bomber" Richard Reid from a Paris cybercafe (and found on its hard disk) shortly before boarding the Paris-Miami flight in which he claimed responsibility in advance for downing the plane. (Luckily or carelessly, depending on your perspective, Reid had pocketed a business card from the cybercafe.)" (its an interesting article actually - "lucky finds" from

* "Nader said Sunday that he planned to continue campaigning in key battleground states in the final month of the presidential election." why is nader competing for votes in swing states?? surely its harder to get heard above the noise, and just cos they are swing states (ie close) doesnt mean there are swing/uncomitted voters... curious. its prolly the ap spin.
