* "The FBI has conducted more than 13,000 interviews this year as part of an effort to detect and disrupt a potential election-year terror attack." but they havent found anything. except that just 5 weeks ago mueller&mclaughlin 'brought a special note of concern to their daily briefing with President Bush' http://edition.cnn.com/2004/LAW/10/22/terror.questioning.ap/
* im still tryin to get my head around the odd 'No Direct Evidence of Plot To Attack Around Elections' article - i dont understand why the article was written. are they trying to justify ridge and rice on the hustings? are they trying to lower the apparent threat level like they did 6 weeks before 911? disavowing themselves of knowledge in advance - just a month after the pdb warning? the article is completely unsourced.
'A CIA spokesman declined to comment' (an entire para) - we know theres a war between the shitehouse and the cia - and the cia has no comment about an election threat?
we know that the madmin likes to have fear on their side - the mere threat of an attack is presumed to help them. 'a key CIA source who had claimed knowledge of such plans has been discredited' - sure - but why would they bother to retract it? we've seen them previously maintain threatlevel despite knowing that the source was wrong. and the cost of them retracting this one just 10 days out could make them look really stupid - especially when the generalised threat is still obvious/apparent.
we've also got powell outta the country (from memory he was in europe 911). and weve got 43 off to crawford on sunday. a day off or some brushcutting shots?
i wonder if this is in response to that Habit(?) 'spymaster' guy i saw on cnn yesterday - who said that if the threat level is the same as it was in august then we should all be worried. i cant track down the interview (or the guy)
weve also got this odd situation that i havent mentioned b4 where senator dayton moved his office out of the capitol after having seen a briefing dated sep15 - the same day as the mueller/pdb thingy. everyone is saying that he is nuts and no-one else who saw the info saw any reason to move. "Dayton defended his position and added, “I would not advise someone to visit Capitol Hill between now and the election, out of extreme precaution. I would not bring my two sons to Capitol Hill between now and the election.”" curiously, this latest article doesnt refer to dayton or the sep15 congressbriefing. http://www.washingtonpost.com/ac2/wp-dyn/A30980-2004Oct13?language=printer
you might also remember the whole extra-constitutional 'Continuity of Govt' thing where cheney et al (incl richard clarke - where is he btw?) simply take over if 100 congressfolk get wiped out. and weve also got stoopidestfuck tommyfranks' cigar thingy about martial law - we all know what a whore he is.
and who doesnt remember condi et al planting the seed for the cancelling of the election?
