* "They say jihadist terrorism is "metastasizing."" woohoo!

* "Bush conducts the war on terrorism above all as a global hunt for a cast of evil men he knows by name and photograph. He tracks progress in daily half-hour meetings that Richard A. Falkenrath, who sometimes attended them before departing recently as deputy homeland security adviser, described as "extremely granular, about individual guys."" isnt this the same as jonk seeing it as a crime issue?
* one funny thing is hearing headlinews from iraq - '3 were killed in an attck' or '20 were hurt in an attck' - the reality is something like 80+ attacks per day - and we only hear the casualties from presumably the worst one (or two) - which seems to mean that the errorists fail 98% of the time. with bombs. give me an ied and i reckon i could bunnies with it nearly every time.
* i miss spooky mark kimmit. where is he?
* "Indymedia: the tale of the servers 'nobody' seized" http://www.theregister.co.uk/2004/10/21/indymedia_home_office_denial/
* it seems that jonk is sticking to his guns about the torabora thing. it seems he knows it to be true. "The Bush administration has concluded that Osama bin Laden was present during the battle for Tora Bora late last year and that failure to commit U.S. ground troops to hunt him was its gravest error in the war against al Qaeda" (apr02) it doesnt seem to be doing 43 any damage tho. reality cant break thru. http://www.washingtonpost.com/ac2/wp-dyn?pagename=article&node=&contentId=A62618-2002Apr16¬Found=true
* similarly it seems that he is sticking to his guns re letting zarq escape. so thats zero from two for the bushies fighting twot.
* kr seem to be suggesting tentatively that 43 had to do communityservice in 1973. the truth ought disqualify him. again. this isnt a new story - but its fun to see the ship getting leakier leakier. whither next? can they hold their world together with purple stickytape for another 9 days?

* it looks like sincliar did their thing and it was reasonably well-balanced -
which doesnt include the obvious damage done 2 jonk before the broadcast.

* it seems fl voting base is up 18% on 2000. wow.
* "The memorandums, written primarily by two company managers, charged that the security firm, Custer Battles, repeatedly billed the occupation authorities for nonexistent services or at grossly inflated prices." only in bushbizarro land could we get a repug company called Custer Battles ripping of the govt in the 'fog' - and firing one whistleblower, and promoting the other once he retracted his claim. http://www.nytimes.com/2004/10/23/politics/23whistle.html?pagewanted=all&position=
* i love sharapova. mmmmm. russian femten.
* faux thinks that the oreilly thing should be left to the courts, rather than the media trying to sort it out
* " The U.S. military has arrested a "senior leader" in the network run by Jordanian terror mastermind Abu Musab al-Zarqawi... Intelligence sources said the man captured was previously thought to be a relatively minor member of the terror network. But because so many of al-Zarqawi's associates have been captured or killed, he moved up to take a more important role." please make it stop. http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=540&ncid=736&e=3&u=/ap/20041023/ap_on_re_mi_ea/iraq_insurgents_arrested
* helpful wapo headline "No Direct Evidence of Plot To Attack Around Elections" go read the article. its all a bit spooky. http://www.washingtonpost.com/ac2/wp-dyn/A55597-2004Oct22?language=printer
