no neocon brainchild left behind

* " Greg Valliere, chief strategist at Schwab’s Washington Research Group. “From what I see, there’s 66% chance we’ll know by Wednesday morning who won." http://www.detnews.com/2004/business/0410/23/business-312752.htm

* 43 is using topgun as a campaign themesong

* howiekurtz on jons - "In a final absurdity, an Internet petition is urging Stewart to run for president." http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A55440-2004Oct22.html

* i wonder whether the fundies will try to ban oralsex - or at least swallowing. i wonder what theyll call it - spermicide? or cannibalism? theyll prolly also make it illegal to have a miscarriage. and theyll jail lots of black women with murder - for smoking or drinking or mainlining and causing miscarriage.

* btw - in case u missed it - the guys who made that sinclaiar antijonk movie are reverendmoon converts

* nyt ed "It's long been obvious that the allegations about Saddam Hussein's dangerous weapons and alliance with Osama bin Laden were false. But as the election draws closer, the remaining question is to what extent President Bush's team knew the allegations were wrong and used them anyway to persuade Americans to back the invasion of Iraq." nyt is going sick. its a shame its too late. and they are already complicit.

* and btw - there is votefraud happening all over the place. im not sure how much media its getting.

* and btw - theres a war goin on

* the funny thing about dayton leavin town is that they are saying that the terrorists are winning and 'we cant cut and run.' - this from a crew who have ranted about protecting people, and the inevitability of an attack. and that dc is a target. especially at election time. and yet, the idea of moving people out of potential harms way is somehow an anethema. i dont know dayton but he said 'i wouldnt want my sons in dc, therefore i cant ask others to be there' - which at face sounds like he means it.

* "This would also go a long way toward explaining Bush's visceral reaction to criticism. If one is in the habit of separating intent from outcome, not every mistake is shameful." if we are to believe the '43isreligious' thing then i would extend this to "no mistake is shameful" (if the intent is right) - the real problem that this highlights is that there is therefore no consideration of 2 out of the 3 components of the equation - ie the cost, and the likelihood of success. theres no npv calculation. when u say 'god wants people to be free' and that is the only input, even if it is a correct statement, and also that "no mistake is shameful" in accomplishing that mission, then theres no cost that would make it prohibitive. and theres no consideration of whether the mission will be successful or not. did it cost 1100 amlives to 'liberate' iraq? it doesnt matter. what if it costs 50k? or 500k iraqis? it simply doesnt matter. "its worth it". dog wants people to be free. and the same will be true of syria and iran. how much will it cost? doesnt matter - dog wants people to be free. can we achieve the purportedly desired outcomes? doesnt matter - dog wants people to be free. what if peeps will be less free because of your actions? doesnt matter - dog wants people to be free.

* a quick google of "brainchild left behind" comes up empty. i must be clever. the problem is that whenever i say something clever it always seems really obvious.
