one germ president

* kucinich "If the difference between George Bush and John Kerry is less than one quarter of one percent after the official tally is completed (about 16,000 votes) an automatic recount occurs under Ohio law.
If the margin is greater than one quarter of one percent, a candidate can request a recount at an expense to the candidate of $10 per precinct. Because there are approximately 12,000 precincts in Ohio, the recount would cost about $120,000, before legal fees. A recount would entail a visual inspection of every punch card ballot.
I believe we must pursue every lead which raises questions about the integrity of the electoral process. "

* " If you voted for Bush, we accept that we have to share the country with you. We're adjusting to the possibility that there may be more of you than there are of us. But don't demand our respect. You lost it on November 2." http://www.commondreams.org/views04/1110-25.htm

* tipping points suck if you are walking a fine line

* 'we found slaughterhouses' - woohoo. we know that they were slaughterhouses cos we found black clothes in them.

* fauxnews: 'one insider said that more than 500 insurgents have been killed in fallujah. there are no reports of civillian casualties'

* i wish everyone would shut up about how the dems need to respond to the election and redstates and values and religion and all that jazz. the only thing the dems need to focus on the fact that people who voted for 43 were ignorant/wrong/mistaken about saddam/911/wmd. thats the only thing. its true that many of them would have voted for 43 anyway, but its not difficult to contemplate a 20% swing to kerry if 100% of people knew these couple of objective facts. unless the dems realise that this is the only issue that matters, they'll run around chasing their tail. and fail. and destroy most everything they stand for in the meantime. and the repugs will try to brainwash the masses again with significant identifiable untruths - which will cost the dems the next election, unless they recognise the general problem, and the specific instances, and learn to get ahead of the problem.

* i wonder if appointing gonzales qualifies as uniting or dividing.

* "in Nov2003 Mr. Bremer argued the country was too insecure to hold elections, and besides, there were no voter rolls. Few were convinced. At the time, many argued that Iraq was safe enough to have elections and pointed out that the lists from the Saddam-era oil-for-food program could serve as voter rolls... So it turns out that all of the excuses were lies: if elections can be held now, they most certainly could have been held a year ago, when the country was vastly calmer." http://www.alternet.org/waroniraq/20459/

* "Coles Myer sales jump 20.7 per cent" ummm - how long till cml is bigger than the oz economy? http://theage.com.au/news/Business/Coles-Myer-sales-jump-207-per-cents/2004/11/11/1100021912717.html
