* i wonder if fallujahmess will distract attention away from the electiontheft? it looks like itll be a mighty mess. itll be worth it when they get zark.
* "Hungary will withdraw its 300 troops from Iraq by the end of March... Other nations that have recently announced withdrawals include: Poland, with 2,350 troops; Italy, 3,000; the Netherlands, 1,300; Ukraine, 1,450, Norway, 300; New Zealand, 61; and Thailand, 880.
Previously, Spain, the Dominican Republic, Honduras, Nicaragua, the Philippines, the Czech Republic, Kazakhstan and El Salvador withdrew forces. New contributors to the force are South Korea and Tonga." yeah yeah yeah - but can *WE* leave yet? http://www.usatoday.com/news/world/iraq/2004-11-03-hungary-iraq-withdrawal_x.htm
* do u think the dems would ever stoop to nominate an alankeyes type in an unwinnable race - just to say shit that no-one else can/will, and with no cost?
* i wonder if theres an amgrunt bodycount ceiling at which point the ams just have to pullout of iraq. 2000? 10000? 100000? whatever the number, i hope they all die tomorrow. and then the pullout can start. we're eventually going to hit that number anyway - so my proposal doesnt include any extra amdeaths - just some temporal adjustments, and will probably save a whole bunch of iraqis.
* arafats condition is 'stable' - (as the fauxhead then went on to explain 'his condition is neither getting better, nor is it getting worse')
* cygan could be president
* "Falluja insurgents besieged by U.S. and Iraqi troops on Saturday invited journalists to "embed" with them to report their side of the war." http://www.alertnet.org/thenews/newsdesk/FRI650937.htm
* "An Iraqi military commander has deserted US forces hours after he received a full briefing on US military plans to storm the rebel-held city of Fallujah" http://www.abc.net.au/news/newsitems/200411/s1236326.htm
* who remembers when Time (?) had its cover story on evoting titled
'worst technology ever'?
* i wonder if cbs will show that niger piece. i wonder if its sufficiently inflammatory to ignite the evoting tinderbox.
* today im in a mixed mood - some combination of despair and despondence and fear and sadness and wonder. as usual. but theres also a whiff of anticipation and praps even optimism. maybe people will finally wake up if theres sufficient data in the FOI requests to actually point to electionfraud. in my dreamland, praps reality will intervene and stop the inauguration, praps the people will rise. and praps they will actually have some power. i hate feeling optimistic. i hate getting suckered into it. and im grumpy with myself for falling into it on election day. but one day, one day, reality will bump up against the xxxadmin - and its difficult to imagine anything but escalation - ergo every day we are presumably getting closer to a revolution. and so, yep, theres a modicum of optimism - with the major caveat - 'be careful what u wish for' - its still not obvious how the ladmin will react in that eventuality. one imagines that it might not be pretty - but if the revolution is inevitable, then it might as well be sooner than later. the longer the delay, the higher the cost - at least, so it seems.
* i saw an ap report earlier today - it went something like 'jonk, a senator from massachusetts, did xyz' - youd have thought theyd stop that shit post-election.
* i wonder if bc04 will really pay back the govt for the use of the helicopters and all that as campaign expenses.
