wheres wally?

* "Significantly, exitpolls also showed Republicans carrying the bulk of the tight Senate races. However, when the official results were tallied, the presidential exit polls proved wrong while the Senate polls proved right." and "As the New York Times reported, “The presumption of a Kerry victory built a head of steam late in the day, when the national survey showed the senator with a statistically significant lead, one falling outside the survey’s margin of error.”
Washington Post managing editor Steve Coll wrote in an online chat on Nov. 3 that “the last wave of national exit polls we received … showed Kerry winning the popular vote by 51 percent to 48 percent – if true, surely enough to carry the Electoral College.” [NYT, Nov. 5, 2004]" http://www.consortiumnews.com/2004/110604.html

* praps we do have the beginning of something serious here with these voting machines. i wonder if 43 will be inaugurated. concession speeches have no legal status.

* btw - remember b4 the election when the Time poll showed 50% of people werent entirely sure that the winner of the election would be the winner of the election? i wonder if this blackbox stuff can motivate/activate these people. 50% is a lot of people. there might even be some redvoters who arent entirely happy when presidencies get stolen.

* i remember way back at the end of 03 when it looked like the world was gonna end, and i noted that it wouldnt be long till 03 looked like the good old days. i imagine my prognostications in late december this year will be much the same.

* ""We share all the members' concerns about the inaccuracies in the projections produced by the early waves of exit poll data and we are personally miffed about the early results,'' the report said."
