seymour hersh was on demnow - slamming an nyt mag article, amy pointed out that it was "the cover of the magazine, the “Salvadorization of Iraq.”"

anyway - i hadnt heard of the article so i did a quick search and i couldnt immediately find it. it turns out that its here - although the name has changed to "The Way of the Commandos"

there are actually quite a few references online to the article calling it the “Salvadorization of Iraq” - although 'Salvadorization' doesnt actually appear in the published article

peter maas (the journo) has what appears to be a reprint of the article on his site which has the "Salvadorization of Iraq?" title - and also a lede "The counterinsurgency is increasingly being waged by former elite troops of Saddam Hussein’s army, with guidance from a U.S. adviser who in the 80’s commanded the Special Forces in El Salvador. It’s not a pretty campaign." - although the lede is missing from the published article as well.

it looks as though maybe the nyt changed the title at the last minute - or maybe theres another explanation...
