Voinovich (R-Hero)

terrific result on the Bolton confirmation. Voinovich would have voted no on the recommendation motion, so he gave himself a bit of wiggle-room and allowed himself to vote with the majority - but thats ok - the signal (to the public, and the rest of the senate) was pretty clear.

the good news is that the vote, once again, raises the profile of bolton, and hence the disgusting behaviour of the egadmin - both in terms of the general MO of the entire whitehouse, and the specific fact that the shitehouse is lining up in support of bolton despite his obvious unfitness.

another bruising senate battle (and the requisite buildup) will continue to shine the light on all the shenanigans. theres still a bunch of information that the dems havent received on bolton that biden and others are still fighting to get released - all of which will keep bolton on the frontpage for weeks.

the entire process has been so bruising to boltons reputation, that it doesnt really matter whether he gets confirmed - i almost hope that he does get confirmed after a long bruising elucidating battle - cos theres no way he'd be able to get anything done - noone will ever believe him, including the american people. as ive repeatedly said, if the shitehouse wants someone like bolton at the UN, then it'd probably be worse if they sent in someone with a cleaner slate to do a bolton-type job.

we still dont know when bolton will go to the senate vote - one imagines that the senate will go nucular before then anyway - so theres much uncertainty ahead...

all good news tho.

thank you mr voinovich - who'd have thought that anyone in ohio actually had a conscience?

oh yeah - george allen is either creepy, evil or stupid, or some combination thereof...

and norm coleman is simply odious
