* csm does an interesting piece on march11 in madrid. interesting cos it asks a whole bunch more questions that it answers - particularly about the fact that apparently the spanish police knew and were watching the perps. also interesting was this last para:
"On Saturday, hundreds of thousands gathered at a public rally in Madrid called by terrorist victims groups. The protest was primarily directed against the government's recent offer to negotiate with ETA if the separatist group abandons violence. But protesters also voiced another complaint, repeatedly chanting: "We want to know what happened on March 11."" LINK
read that again. i dont know about you, but i didnt see or hear about a protest of hundreds of thousands in madrid on the weekend, which is odd, given how much we apparently like protests in other countries, and given that it was terrorism related. think of all the different ways the neocons could have spun that story, and didnt.
ive also previously noted the oddity that is madrids current 911 criminal trial that is getting *zero* attention... we're in a globalwaronterror and, if we're counting, thats two of the largest terror attacks in the history of the universe that we are ignoring at the moment, when by any definition, they are newsworthy. even in a runawaybride universe. (btw - whenever i hear the latest missingwhitegirlwithbikiniphotos story in aruba, my mind flashes to barrygibb (?) throatily singing that song...)
