"The discovery that the units both used a similar-looking type of chemical explosive, both targeted three Tube trains and a bus, and were prepared to carry out suicide attacks in London, points towards some form of co-ordinated operation." (link)the explosives are now 'similar-looking' - it reminds me of 'weapons of mass distraction program related activities'
more confusion from the same article:
"Mr de Menezes, who stayed in one of about 10 flats at the purpose-built block, was followed by police on Friday morning and shot dead after reportedly fleeing armed officers who confronted him at Stockwell Tube station in south London.""that looks kinda innocuous right? but if you've been paying close attention, you'll note the odd turn of phrase: "about 10 flats". thats somewhat interesting, because blocks of flats either have 10 flats or they dont. you might remember that it was originally stated that the murdered innocent guy was tracked because he was at the flat that was being watched. then the story nudged a bit and he was merely in the building of the flat that was being watched. at that point, the story was that "There are eight separate flats in the block." - so maybe there was 12.5% that he was 'guilty'. so now we are given the less-than-specific 'about 10'. fine.
the story continues:
"The dead man, who is thought to have been living on a visa in Britain legally, but working illegally as an electrician, lived at flat 17. Police later raided flat 21, where neighbours said three men of Somalian and Ethiopian origin lived".now, im just speculating, but whats the chance that an apartment building with at least 7 flats on the bottom floor has just 3 flats on the next floor? (and even that is assuming that there are no flats numbered 1-9. my understanding of the british apartment nomenclature isnt great).
(ftr, we were originally, falsely, told he was an illegal immigrant, now we are being told he was an illegal electrician - the implication, apparently, is that he therefore deserved to get murdered)
and if i can just make one more point, which im sure is completely unrelated, we were originally told that they tracked him from the apartment of busbomber2.0 - altho they changed that to a completely different block of a different bomber.
oh yeah - one more point - fauxnews version of Menezes being innocent is 'so far as they can tell, the police havent been able to connect him to the bombers so far'

I think the number of flats is relevant - how can you do a stake-out and not know. Didn't somebody check the post boxes or buzzer? Or how would they know they have the right place?
Don't know and don't tell are two different things.
But when disinformation - for whatever reason - gets printed as news, it means that something is happening at the reporters' end -- they are in London, we are not - doesn't anyone fact-check and use it to confront authority?
The State of Emergency mentality is where all of this has been going for some time. In the States, Bush and his junta could not WAIT to get their hands on extraordinary powers. The anthrax attacks which followed 9/11 were deliberately orchestrated with weaponized anthrax, and a story constructed to connect Saddam with al-Qaeda. This was a plot generated within officialdom by definition, for that is the only place the substance could have come from.
The American press, while it talks of Plame and the Downing Street memo does not dare revisit the most damning physical evidence of all, which killed five persons, shut down the postal service, and forced Congress out of their offices before they were prodded into voting for an unread USA Patriot Act.
The Brits may have taken a different path but it seems to be leading to the same place.
Without official connivance in terror we would never have invaded Iraq. Other lands await. Maybe the opposition has found its voice but it has been late in coming, in the USA.
