Getting Agnostic About 9/11

* "Kurdish leader Mahmood Othman [Mahmoud Osman] condemned recent statements by the Turkish Foreign Ministry about the non-recognition of the province of Kurdistan and its warning against playing with the future of Kirkuk, considering that they constitute interference in Iraq’s internal affairs and reflect Turkey’s fear from “the spread of democracy to its territory”.
He added that Turkey had wanted to strike at the oppositional “Kurdistani Workers Party” (PKK) in the Iraqi-Turkish border area, but US forces in Iraq objected to that: “Iraqi Kurdish leaders called on Turkey to stop the violence against its Kurds, issue an amnesty for the PKK, and recognize the national and political rights of the Kurds in order to avoid further bloodshed, but it was to no avail.”" (link)
uh-oh.

* the LATimes did an "Agnostic about 911" piece

* "Justice O'Connor does not "have to stay for awhile"; she can supersede her conditional resignation letter with an unconditional retirement. I believe this is likely, given the motivation for her leaving the Court, which is to devote her primary attention to her ailing husband. I predict that she will announce her immediate retirement soon after Rehnquist's funeral." (link)

* neil cavuto is saying that its difficult to imagine bizness getting a better friend than rehnquist - but believe it or not - john roberts will be even better!
