* "DOCTORS working in hurricane-ravaged New Orleans killed critically ill patients rather than leave them to die in agony as they evacuated." (link)
wow - itll be interesting if this is true. i'd love it to be true (the source is somewhat suspect). i wonder if it will get any coverage. the schiavo crowd will go nuts. will the doctors be prosecuted? i understand that the uber-morgue is doing autopsies - so they'll know who did it, and how. will the law-and-order folk demand prosecution? will they put the doctors on Death Row? i fucking hope so - particularly if the doctors are whiteys. can u imagine how much fun it would be to watch a high-profile euthanasia case in the courts and the media? the fetusfolk would go batshit-crazy(er) trying to justify mass-murder - or alternatively, they'd show themselves up to be batshit crazy by trying to prosecute the mass-murderers - even though most sentient americans would see the empathy in the doctors' actions - and perhaps even think that they'd have probably have done the same thing (or at a minimum, appreciate the intention, and the reasonable-ness of the actions). and perhaps america can have an adult conversation about euthanasia. i wont hold my breath.
* Rick Scarborough: "One other factor which must be considered: Days before Katrina nearly wiped New Orleans off the map, 9,000 Jewish residents of Gaza were driven from their homes with the full support of the United States government. Could this be a playing out of prophesy?" (link)
i really really hope there is a hell for these people.
* "Toxic chemicals in the New Orleans flood waters will make the city unsafe for full human habitation for a decade, a US government official has told The Independent on Sunday. And, he added, the Bush administration is covering up the danger. [snip]
Mr Kaufman claimed the Bush administration was playing down the need for a clean-up: the EPA has not been included in the core White House group tackling the crisis. "Its budget has been cut and inept political hacks have been put in key positions," Mr Kaufman said." (link)
the EPA is broken. who'da thunk? the EPA is politicised (like fema)? who'da thunk? the bush administration has destroyed every organisation which is purportedly tasked with keeping the minions safe? surely not.
