if you have questions that you think zogby should ask about the impeachment of the president (and any of his friends), please put them in the comments.
also - we are in the process of getting organised to raise money so that we can pay zogby. the costs appear to be $2000 for the first question, and $1000 for any subsequent questions. if you would like to contribute - please let me know how much, and how i can contact you once we are ready to start collecting funds - either leave details in the comments or email me luke (at) lukeryland.com - it wont be binding of course, but just to give me an indication.
(for those of you coming from afterdowningstreet and other places - the background is that zogby told me that they wouldnt poll the impeachment question, and then rawstory did an article about it, and now we seem to have convinced zogby to actually ask the question. i should have more info in the next few days.)
thanks. lukery
Update: lets prove that we are better fundraisers than our pro-war counterparts: "An extraordinary appeal to Americans from the Bush administration for money to help pay for the reconstruction of Iraq has raised only $600 (£337), The Observer has learnt... the appeal was launched earlier this month" (link)

I saw the diary on dailykos.com
I think that raising $4k for a poll would be fairly easy.
let me know if you need help
post reply here on how I can send you an email message (dont want to post email publicly)
I would just take a look at the previous zogby poll from 6/05 and select a few questions. Like, impeachment & approval rating. you might include a katrina question.
If you word it the same as previously, you see if there is any change. I assume you would include the demographic questions.
Plus, on the lighter side (snark) I'd like to see a question "do you think that God is punishing the US for allowing George Bush to be president by sending all these hurricanes? :) :) (/snark)
thnx biscobosco - u can email me at luke -- at -- lukeryland.com
there are lots of snarky questions that would be fun to ask :-)
Hi
I am willing to help and contribute.
Also like to suggest you set up a full
news side a la Buzzflash only more
systematic with more and faster updates as Drudge (unfortunately)
thanks. we are still trying to get things organised - i hope that we'll have something more concrete by Tue or Wed of next week. a buzzflash thing would be great - but i dont think i'll be able to put that together. I'm a bit busy!
thnx again
Check your email please..
Regards.
I guess there are really only two ways of asking the question. Either a straight "Do you think that the President should be impeached?" or a conditional one like "If Bush deliberately lied about the presence of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, do you think that that is grounds for impeachment?"
I'm guessing the first question will get somewhere in the 35% range and it would bump up to 40 or 50% with something like the second question.
In any case, it will probably be a higher percentage for impeachment than Clinton got in most polls right up to the impeachment.
thanks steve - i think we should definitely ask the straight out question - how about some others?
what if we can ask 5 questions?
it should be the previously asked question for comparison purposes.
Asking more thsn one can be seen as 'leading the witness'.
DemFromCT - how about if we have a chance to ask multiple questions?
secondly, we are trying to save the planet from george bush - 'leading the witness' is the last thing we should be worried about about. do repugs concern themselves about witness leading? im not suggesting that we need to be immoral - but why restrict ourselves?
All that is needed is a really simple question.
Are the following documented wrongs enough to impeach George W. Bush?
1. Committing fraud in order to become the president in 2000 using campaign workers and family friends to ensure your victory.
2. Knowing we would be attacked by Bin Laden using planes and ignoring it to go golfing.
3. Lying about WMD in order to attack Iraq for their oil?
4. Paying scientists to fake results so that large SUV drivers can get a tax break and not worry about global warming.
5. Fraud committed in the 2004 election via the black-box voting machines owned by Bush's friends and contributors.
6. Karl Rove outing a CIA operative and having no penalty at all - i.e. Bush's lie that whoever outed the operative would be fired.
7. The Katrina debacle in New Orleans.
And the list goes on. Bush is the teflon Don. I can not for the life of me figure out why. It is not being hidden - the wrongs this man has committed and continues to commit and get away with. He has everything of power in his pocket. We need someone powerful to step forward and take him on. We need the 21st century Martin Luther King before it is too late.
While I admit I am a Bus fan, I saw your impeach bush banner on you blog and posted about it in my forums. I added a link to you blog as a courtesy. Thought I'd let you check it out for yourself if you care:
