FYI - they previously wrote back and said they can't cash a check for anything under $1...and I know they hate staples. It's not so much the affect on the sorting machine, but the fact that some poor slob has to remove them by hand.

Remind me to send over my staple-tattered $.02 check from last year - it made about 4 round trips and close to 50 staples before I had to retire it... ;)

P.S. The typo on "Mailman"s name was on purpose, of course. Just more self entertainment... ;)

and just to be clear, adam isnt a luddite and his goal was the destruction of the machinery that runs the GOP. i apologise, that was my projection.

but the image of some GOP hack who thinks they are donatin' time to jeebus by pulling out 50 staples is somehow satisfying. if you are equally deviant, you know what to do. you may also derive pleasure from writing silly letters to "mr mailman" - i fear that never in our history has the overlap between irony/sarcasm and 'mainstream" been so immense - adams letter could probably have been written by 30% of the population sans irony. aint that scary.

in any case, if you want to get some evil enjoyment out of opening your mail, help destroy the machine by forcing jeebus-lovin GOPers to extract 50 staples from a 2 cent-cheque. you probably shouldnt tell your friends - cos its kinda weird - but it can be a secret pleasure :-)

perhaps i should start a postsecret type thing where i post funny letters to the rnc - or perhaps we should have a hall of fame where i'll post scans of the checks that have had the most staples removed.
