DeLay is in more trouble

* "The Central Asian nation Kyrgyzstan today ended the death penalty once and for all." (link)
yay for sanity.

* "Under the new plan, Rumsfeld ally Stephen Cambone, the undersecretary for intelligence, moved up to the third spot. Former Ambassador Eric Edelman, the policy undersecretary, and Kenneth Krieg, the undersecretary for acquisition, technology and logistics, hold the fourth and fifth positions." (link)
the number 2 spot is empty, which means that our friend edelman is actually number 3. what a year he has had! from a failed ambassadorship to being a couple of heartattacks away from SoD.

* regarding the change in control over the military that was shushed out over xmas, digby says: "But, I got a sick little shiver when I read it. Do they know something? Failed military coup?... If something happens, pray for Rumsfeld's health because Cambone is an even wilder nutcase than Rummy is. Jesus. Three more years of this?"

* ftr, driftglass doesnt "believe in an Intelligent Designer who created our genitalia within arms reach, gave us opposable thumbs and oversized imaginations…and yet doesn’t want us to have a naughty good time with all three." (link)
in case you were wondering.

* xymphora: "There is a good summary on Sibel Edmonds and her claims at Wot Is It Good 4. Edmonds has lots of things to say that are music to the ears of a conspiracy theorist, but she still bothers the hell out of me"

* DeLay is in more trouble - wapo's frontpage today has a massive article about the financing of the trip to russia... there's more, much
