DeLay, toast.

* "The deal could be completed before then, the people said. Abramoff could sign the plea agreement and exchange it with prosecutors via fax over the weekend, they said." (link)
oh boy.

* davidbrooks on lehrer said that DeLay is officially toast.

* garry leupp: "Another year over, and we still haven’t seen the widely predicted U.S. (or U.S.-Israeli) attacks on Syria and Iran. But keep paying attention. The Turkish press reports that in a December trip to Turkey, CIA Director Porter Goss “asked Ankara to be ready for a possible US air operation against Iran and Syria.”" (link)

* "It's hard to imagine a worse combination than an Administration which claims the right to unlimited "wartime" power (including law-breaking) and a Supreme Court comprised of a majority which subscribes to John Yoo's authoritarian theories of presidential powers. But if Sam Alito takes Justice O'Connor's seat on the Supreme Court, that's exactly what we're going to have." (link)

* kurt nimmo notes that the story about porter goss telling the turks to get ready for an airstrike against syria and iran got viturally zero coverage.

* delay is toast. wapo has another frontpager on his dealings with russian oil folk and funny-munny splashing around funny frontgroups. (link)
