scott ritters book

* wapo has a massive frontpager about abramoff, including the observation that he may plead this week. josh complains that the article doesnt delve into k-street. janehamsher fell off her chair when she read that DeLay and abramoff are strangers. laura thinks the idea of senators going to jail is delicious.

* digby has been on a roll lately - go read all his latest posts. digby had his first fundraiser last week - there's something about leftblogistan writers that they really appreciate receiving funds, and my guess is that digby is overwhelmed by the generosity that he sharpened his pencil a little. WingNutBloggers are different - they dont really have anything to sharpen, so the writing is as bad as ever at pantsloadmedia, for example.

* froomkin: "It gives me great pleasure to announce the birth of my firstborn, a boy, Max Fitzgerald Froomkin. Max was born Monday night, Dec. 26 and weighed in at 9 pounds, 7 ounces."
yay.

* "Kurdish leaders have inserted more than 10,000 of their militia members into Iraqi army divisions in northern Iraq to lay the groundwork to swarm south, seize the oil-rich city of Kirkuk and possibly half of Mosul, Iraq's third-largest city, and secure the borders of an independent Kurdistan." good heavens.
