imminent iran attack/war?

* i wonder why UBL sends his tapes to aljazeera rather than cnn.

* " (UPI) -- Tehran is planning a nuclear weapons test before the Iranian New Year on March 20, 2006 says a group opposed to the regime in Tehran.
The Foundation for Democracy citing sources in the U.S and Iran offered no further information." (link)
oh great. i imagine that this group is full of rendon/bksh/lincoln hacks (here's their website). i can't get to their 'about' page - but they are involved with horowitz, Insightmag and weldon. and big kudos to the moonietimes for bringing us this piece of unadulterated nonsense. let's all pray to the flyingspaghettimonster that the apparent urgency (Mar20) isn't a precursor to an imminent new war.

* i wonder why Blinky nominated harriet miers before sammy alito. is it just that laura bush wanted a woman? what more could Miers have delivered than this: "Indeed, Alito has been such an unapologetic supporter of the right’s beloved Imperial Presidency that Alito’s one noteworthy assurance—that George W. Bush was not “above the law”—was essentially meaningless because in Alito’s view, Bush is the law."

* newsweek has a story on postsecret

* xymphora considers Larry Franklin's future: "'accident' or 'suicide'?"

* xymphora also points to the recent R/S article about rendon - and notes that the "Reform Party of Syria" is an abramoff front. abramoff has been involved in some crazy shit as i noted last week
