abramoff and terrorists

while i'm ranting, let me reach into my draft folder for a post i've been trying to construct from a month ago about whether jack abramoff might be involved in sibelgate. i think that this is perhaps a very rich vein although it seems to get lost in the more mundane, domestic pay2play game. jack also has significant links to paramilitary groups and whatnot.

someone just left a comment at an old post:
" One question, Atta was reported to have been on Abramoff's SunCruz gambling boat a few days before 9/11. How does this fit in? Any idea?"
I actually made a big stink of this at one time. Abramoff is not only connected to this crew, but also to fascist regimes in south africa, sniper schools in israel, and he lobbied for the pakistan military.

jesse pointed to a trifecta of abramoff/norquist links to terrorism, and mark kleiman responded thusly:
"Any serious Islamist agent of influence in today's Washington won't be wearing a black turban; he will wear a two-thousand- dollar suit, an Adam Smith necktie, and an American flag lapel pin. That's the world we live in, and we'd better get used to it."
is it outside the realm that abramoff is involved with some seriously nefarious business? as odd as our world seems to be, i often think that we've barely scratched the surface.

was abramoff involved in the AQkhan network? was he involved with the f-16 purchase decision? was he involved with grossman? general mahmud?

(sara at tnh also wonders if something weird is going on)
