We're in final-straw territory.

* "During the speech, Bolton appeared to go further than the Bush administration’s previous stated position on India and Pakistan’s nuclear weapons. Bolton said the countries had acquired the weapons “legitimately.” (link)

* emptywheel and her friends try to unpick the redactions in fitz' latest document seem to think that Armitage is Woodward (and Novak's) source. the detail is mindboggling and i dont even know what they are talking about most of the time. (and there's a very nasty troll over there, apparently a journalist. i won't tell you who i think it is - i hope i'm wrong, but it would explain a few things)

* " In this week's TNR, my colleague Noam Scheiber reports that Bush recently filled an open seat on the Federal Reserve board--which may be as important to the economy as the Supreme Court is to the law--with Kevin Warsh, a 35-year old former White House aide of dubious qualifications... Other than a Harvard Law degree and four years in the White House, the only qualification that jumps out at you is the $165,000-plus his father-in-law has donated to various Republican committees since 2002. " (link)

* byron york: " The instant furor over the ports deal was different, and it revealed something that has been mostly below the surface for quite some time: Republicans on Capitol Hill are furious at George W. Bush.... In their view, Bush is not a political liability because his approval ratings are low. His approval ratings are low because he's a political liability... After Social Security, Katrina, Miers, and the UAE, the bottom line is that Republicans don't want to bet their futures on Bush anymore. "It's just been going on for so long," says the former aide. "We're in final-straw territory." "

* glenn: "All of that is what makes the support which many of them have expressed for the UAE port deal rather baffling. As has been noted many times, the UAE has a policy towards Israel that is as radical and hostile as any country in the world, including Iran."

* highlight from the logs- someone googled ""statistical anomalies, boy scouts, homosexuals"
