* larisa: "No editor in their right mind would allow a story like (leopold's) unless they had talked to and checked the sources themselves. "
* clemons: "I don't have a good read on Rove's spirits today, but what is suspicious is the degree to which the White House spin machine has gone out of its way to show Rove as calm, in control, witty. . .up.... He was ebullient -- too much so -- in his AEI speech today."
* speaking of trying to read into people's characters and mannerisms and whatnot, i remember some report floating about a while back that a psychologist or some such noted that PreznitBlinky often mis-speaks when he lies, or says something that is difficult for him to say for other reasons (not in a pronunciation sense). i note that he did 'stumble' in his speech today when he said 'militarize' (altho that could simply be that the word is multi-syllabic)
* in the comments to my post about the righties calling for impeachment, oldschool writes:
"Goddammit - we called first dibs on impeachment!! (and yes even before Pat Buchanan). The thought of me and Michelle Malkin drinking champagne on the same night is just too repulsive. It ain't right, I tell ya. What a cruel joke that would be... I still got dibs on the moral high ground, goddammit."funny.

the book to which Steve clemons refers is Bush On The Couch, by Dr. Franks. A must read, in my opinion.
P.S. Perhaps Rove's ebullience is due to the fact that he knows the Supreme Court is nicely stacked in his favor. Who will order him to produce documents, testify under oath, etc.?
thnx kathleen - i'll try to get my hands on that book
let's hope that Rover's case doesnt get to the scotus...
