how the mighty have fallen.

* clemons:
"The Senate Democratic Policy Committee is organizing on Monday a "special oversight hearing" on pre-war intelligence on Iraq. These types of special hearings -- which are not official Congressional hearings but still potentially significant -- should have been used far more frequently by the minority party on matters related to the Iraq War."

* upi:
"The DHS did not notify the White House of its final allocations of anti-terrorism grants for major U.S. urban areas.
U.S. President George W. Bush and his White House were kept in the dark about the Department of Homeland Security’s grant allocations, even though they included controversial cuts to New York City and Washington, until after the decisions were made, congressional and administration officials said Wednesday."
i'm not sure what would be worse - if this story is true, or false.

* frum vs Rich on Kurtz talking about SWIFT. RawStory has the video. Don't miss Pete King going nuts. (FNS doesnt have the transcript up yet)

* via FD:
"Two leaders of the Asian Coalition for Housing Rights who have spent the last 18-months helping victims of last year’s Tsunami took a walk through the Lower Ninth Ward Friday.
Their reaction was one of shock, because they said they expected to see more signs of recovery from Hurricane Katrina."
how the mighty have fallen.
