katherine harris is a deranged woman

* Henry Rollins wants to employ Ann Coulter as his (m)Ann Friday - mostly so that she will just STFU and memorize caddyshack. video here

* katherine harris is a deranged woman. from Progressive:
"She asked the audience to think about the challenges. “Could you imagine our security if Al Gore had been elected in 2000? Could you imagine what would have happened to our economy if John Kerry had been elected in 2004?”

She was starting to make me sad. I could imagine both of those things. I could imagine the $200 billion spent on a war with Iraq spent instead on education. I could imagine an America with serious partners and an agile military that wasn’t bogged down in an unwinnable war and wasn’t intent on forming a blockade around Iran.
[]
She has $10 million that she inherited from her father, so that might make for sweet dreams. But she pledged to spend it all on her campaign, and Democrats are more than happy to let her part with her money. There’s even a website dedicated to that proposition: makeherspenditall.com."
that's funny. read the rest if you hate katherine. you'll love it.

* brad:
"Emery County's Bruce Funk is Stunned by San Diego County Procedures Allowing Diebold Voting Machines to be Sent Home with Poll Workers Prior to last Tuesday's Special Run-off Election for the U.S. House"
* bob herbert, nyt (via Raw):
"Republicans, and even a surprising number of Democrats, have been anxious to leave the 2004 Ohio election debacle behind. But Kennedy, in his long, heavily footnoted article ("Was the 2004 Election Stolen?"), leaves no doubt that the democratic process was trampled and left for dead in the Buckeye State. Kerry almost certainly would have won Ohio if all of his votes had been counted, and if all of the eligible voters who tried to vote for him had been allowed to cast their ballots."

just got back and read the rest of the Stephen Elliot article. apart from totally freaking the fuck out over the latest KRove news (although TPMmuckraker says that Truthout stands by Jason L's info), i thought this from the SE piece was, AFAIC, totally a description of my last five + years:

I’m less interested in the future. I’m still picking up the pieces of the last two elections, figuring out what went wrong, hoping for the kind of closure that will allow me to get on with my life.'

and now back to the screaming, throwing things and yes, drinking et al. going on over here. bah...

I still have a fantasy of seeing Katherine Harris and Anne Coulter being maded to share a cell in the Florida State Penn some day. Perhaps have "brother Jeb" in that same prison then to avoid them getting pardoned too!

Please make that come true!

One more time:

Vote by absentee ballot and skip all the voting machine bullshit. When you apply for an absentee ballot, you'll find out if you have been purged from the voters list in time to do something about it, you won't have to wait in line, take time off from work, get a babysitter, etc. It's so much more convenient and it eliminates the rigged tallies.

In a reverse psychology, if we don't use them, the voting machines will go away.
