Signs of Detainees' Planning Alleged
Messages Found On Legal Papers

Three suicides at the U.S. detention facility at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, may have been part of a broader plot by detainees who were using confidential lawyer-client papers and envelopes to pass handwritten notes their guards could not intercept, according to documents that government lawyers filed yesterday in federal court.

Any Malice-in-Blunderland regime that would call a mass suicide "an act of asymmetrical warfare" would have no problem saying that lawyers helped their clients kill themselves. After all, isn't that why those evil "trial lawyers" try to get their clients out of jail? Because the lawyers want the people they're trying to free to actually kill themselves!

And the people who want to imprison the Gitmo inmates forever -- they're the ones who are trying to keep them alive! By strapping the prisoners to beds if they hunger-strike, shoving feeding tubes up their noses and squirting liquid food into their stomachs. After all, the longer they're alive, the longer they'll suffer for what they did. Whatever that was. But we're not telling anyone. Even them.

So you're in Oz, mate? Good onya! My wife and are are middle-aged Yanks, but we emigrated to Melbourne last year because we were so morally sick of being tax-paying cogs of the war machine. I'm a registered nurse, so I could get a work visa. Howard and the Libs are far from perfect, but at least they're fascists with a small "f", not world-devouring big-F'ers who are farkin' up everything under the Sun. I feel so much less guilty here.

As for Finnish-to-English snark, my screen name "Bukkonen" is what my surname (Buck) would be if transmuted to Suomi-speak.

congrats for leaving the warmachine. was a digusting mess the bushco team have created in 6 short years.

the "asymmetrical warfare" was brilliant. just when you think these people couldnt outdo themselves...

(btw: finnish snark can be among the best. teemu rocks.)
