In other news from the region, the Vatican and three churches in Israel have come out against the Christian Zionist movement -- the American evangelicals who have lobbied the US government for aggressive support of Israel’s policies. In a statement called the “Jerusalem Declaration on Christian Zionism”, the four Church groups write: "The Christian Zionist programme provides a world view where the Gospel is identified with the ideology of empire, colonialism and militarism. and that's been their MO for the last six plus years. (me stating the obvious for a change). the thing of it is, most people don't realise this. one of my little rules which i've learnt (and Dave over at 'seeing the forest' had the same just about when i first posted it) is 'whatever they do/accuse the Left and/or Democratic party, rest assured that it's them who're doing same.'
