And we can't worry about being called "shrill". They called us "shrill" during the civil rights movement, too, but we were much more successful then than we have been with our new, "let's be moderate" strategy. For the last 15 years, the Republicans have been deafeningly shrill, and that's worked pretty well for them. We used to be the fiery liberals, and we used to win. Let's do that again.* this is getting reported everywhere:
"BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) - About 4,000 Iraqi police have been killed and more than 8,000 wounded in the past two years"that's some serious fucking lethality. 1 outta every three injured cop is dead? 10 bux sez the numbers are bunk - and i can almost guarnatee you they aren't overstating the number of dead cops.
* kleiman:
"Having had the occasion once or twice to criticize the Beloved Leader's manifold moral failings, I feel I owe it to my readers, and to the reality principle, to speak up when he is unfairly attacked. It has been repeatedly said that the Shrub has been disrespectful to the elder Bush. And maybe that's true, on the surface.
But think more deeply. If there's one thing GWB's Presidency has done, it's making his old man's Presidency look good.
That sort of self-sacrificing and unspectacular gift from a son to his father merits the highest praise."
