after a night of tossing and turning, produced no doubt by going to bed with a heavy sense of dread hanging over my head, i've awakened to a gorgeous, cool morning, with the brilliantly green trees backdropped by the deepest blue skies, and everything made sparking by a sun shining with an intensity i have seen nowhere else but here... the birds are singing and a breeze is blowing... soon i will put the water on for coffee and trust that this new day, so rich already in promise, will bring us to a better place...
to luke: what happy place? nah, i haven't turned on BBC News yet and don't expect to--i'll be watching yesterdy's TDS in about 5 minutes, then a film and then i'm not doing anything but maybe check my mail. i'd rather have one more night of half-crazed sleep than the same w/a huge dollop of anger on top.
