mexxed missages

* if i heard rite, brithume at fauxnews just finished the debate (when they were still shaking hands) 'president bush, former business man....' yikes. i hope elliotness gets him on insider trading charges after the warcrimes.

* ""That wasn't irritated. I know irritated," said senior Bush adviser Karl Rove. Instead, he said Bush was "pensive" and "focused," said Rove." http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=615&e=1&u=/nm/20041001/pl_nm/campaign_bush_dc

* "Bush confidante Karen Hughes said: "On his face, you could see his irritation at the senator's misrepresentations. . . . He was answering the senator with his face."" http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A64003-2004Oct1.html?referrer=email

* "Doubt over Zarqawi's role as ringleader: American intelligence obtained through bribery may have seriously overstated the insurgency role of the most wanted fugitive in Iraq, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi... "From the information we have gathered, we have to conclude Zarqawi is more myth than man."" http://www.theage.com.au/articles/2004/10/01/1096527932416.html

* " This was not a Bush meltdown. It was an exposure." http://www.truthout.org/docs_04/100204Z.shtml

* freeper: " "I had that feeling that Kerry had the questions beforehand. He seemed to have his answers right on target. Bush seemed like he was surprised by the questions." lol

* btw - i think the glee about 43 doing terribly during the debate are overdone. its interesting that faux did the splitscreen thing... one imagines a scenario where the jihadmin uses it as a pretext for cancelling the next 2 debates. or something. that might be a bit difficult to justify - but if the alternative is another 180 minutes with the senator from mass, then it mightnt be a bad option. there was so much pre-press on the 32pg doc... btw - it seems that faux adjusted the splitscreen so that bush was the same height. we were also pre-told that the spin result wouldnt be clear for up to 72 hours - itll be interesting to see if they can even it out.

* i just saw a beautiful bit on cnn - they were doing an international wrap of views of the derbate. host: "londons ft called it a tie saying "There was no single moment which sealed the debate for one man" and they put the quote up on the screen. and i thought - i bet thats a lie - i bet they didnt call it a tie - even though that quote will be right... so i checked - heres what FT said about a tie "CBS had Mr Kerry winning by 44 per cent to 26 per cent with 30 per cent saying it was a tie and ABC had Mr Kerry 45 per cent to 36 per cent with 17 per cent saying it was a tie." its so disgusting. so pervasively corrupt. to the core. they take every opportunity. and cnni is apparently much better than cnn. http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=1106&ncid=1106&e=12&u=/ft/20041001/bs_ft/1d4e2106133e11d9b86900000e2511c8

* fox website had a post-debate story with these quotes (since retracted/apologised for):
"Didn't my nails and cuticles look great? What a good debate!" Kerry said Friday.
"It's about the Supreme Court. Women should like me! I do manicures," Kerry said.
"I'm metrosexual — he's a cowboy," the Democratic candidate said of himself and his opponent."
turns out the reporter who wrote it is the guy covering kerry's campaign...
