voinovich cried, people died

STUFF STUFF
* nyt calls the filibuster deal a " split-the-baby outcome" LINK
thats funny.

* "The pastor of a small Baptist church has refused calls to take down a sign posted in front of his church reading "The Koran needs to be flushed," saying Tuesday he has nothing to apologize for... "I don't hate Muslims, I just hate their false doctrines."" LINK

* blinky: "See, in my line of work you got to keep repeating things over and over and over again for the truth to sink in, to kind of catapult the propaganda." LINK

* ""On what day did we last experience no U.S. troop deaths in Iraq?"
The Answer: December 17, 2004, 158 days ago" LINK

* did anyone else notice the similarity between the 'zarq is injured' story and the 'saddam in undies' story? it might be a good time to sell some zarq contracts at tradesports. how much could we have made outta that gig in the last year? btw - the latest zarq profiles include the nickberg thing. thats kinda funny after all the silence.

* the other day i pointed to dbrooks' friday article where he pretended to be rooting for a compromise, but wasnt really. i just saw him on lehrer and he seemed kinda down - the result was exactly what he was apparently arguing for, and yet he was disappointed - lol. thats class. thats because he never writes what he pretends to write. bastard.

* novak asks cwly? LINK

* the thing about apparently beating frist, is that someone else will have to run in his stead in 2008. would it be better if the repugs put up a prescandidate who was an absolute spaz, or someone who might look popular-ish - like mccain? if they are gonna keep stealing elections, then i guess a mccain type would be marginally better.

* google hires ari3. google sucks. LINK

* "Sen. Sam Brownback, on stem cell research: “We all have a duty to protect the innocent, and this vote represents a failure to recognize the scientific fact that stem cell research that destroys embryos kills young human children."
Rep. Tom DeLay on stem cell research: "In the life of men and nations some mistakes you can't undo," And "That is the essence of the experiment: Kill some in the hopes of saving others." LINK
(war good, research bad)

* "Senator George Voinovich has made the enticing offer to his Senate colleagues that he will share with them "what he knows" about why Bolton was nominated to the U.N. Ambassadorship position but is unwilling to state publicly on the floor." LINK

* cornyn: 'as of today, the Owen Clause should determine that judicial philosophy should never disqualify anyone from the courts'

* ohio election whistleblower gets fired. LINK

* "In a letter dated October 5, 2004 Blackwell specifically threatened removal of any board member who refused to follow his direct orders. The threat undermines Republican arguments that the election was fair because both Democrats and Republicans serve on election boards." LINK

* voinovich is a girly man.

* people are still mad at arnie LINK

* the beeb is reporting on the 'zarq injured' story, and the woman at the desk asked the reporter 'or is this maybe just propaganda - by either side?' . luvvit. small small small small mercies. please.give.me.crumbs.
