just a case of overkill

* (via xymphora) here are the shoot2kill policies laid out in gory detail - including this:
"Marksmen were told to use the 'double tap' procedure, firing twice in rapid succession to ensure the suspect is instantly brought down."
its not obvious why our particular victim got hit 5 times. maybe they thought he was 250% more dangerous than the usual suicide bomber. or maybe it was just a case of overkill...

and: "In law, shoot-to-kill is permitted only where an officer is convinced the person they are shooting is so dangerous they could not possibly be captured by conventional means."

yeah - you are right DW. if the rumours are spot on then we might as well take our bat and ball and go home.

lets hope we look foolish - that'd be a great outcome.
