* re the madrid train bombings, yesterday i noted: "oh please! mayfield is a convert to islam. they hate that even more than the fact that he defended 'terrorists'. " mayfield said today that "the FBI was biased due to him being a convert to the Muslim faith." the only question is whether they began trying to frame him before or after the bombings.
* i rarely talk about economics any more. too busy. its a shame that's what i'm trained in. but how's this? "Two-thirds of EU credit card debt is British"
* i've just been reading Blah3 for a change. some good headlines over there. re the body armour that could have saved 80% of some subset of dead amgrunts, the headline is "This One's Gonna Be Tough to Spin" which is exactly what i thought when i read the article. and then there's a post on bremer claiming that he didnt expect an insurgency - title: "Shorter Bremer: 'We were dumber than you thought we were.'"
* "Prosecutors in a Florida murder case want to question Republican super-lobbyist Jack Abramoff and two associates now that they've struck plea agreements on fraud charges, requiring cooperation with other government probes. The victim of the 2001 gangland-style murder had been in a dispute with an Abramoff business group at the time of his slaying. " (link)
* "Bob Fertik, never one to shy away from a fight, has called Republican National Committee chairman Ken Mehlman out and challenged him to a public debate on the merits of impeaching George W. Bush."(link)
